Those who have successfully completed a railway safety course will receive a (5) year-long track safety card.
Track safety training provides a person with basic information on safe operation in a railway environment so that he/she is familiar with the relevant instructions, the rules for moving and working in the railway area and is familiar with the dangers of the railway environment. There are no baseline or initial training requirements for training.
The course material consists of a training material formed by the Finnish Transport Agency, which is distributed to the participants at the beginning of the training.
Track safety training (Railway Safety) requires persons who move and work on the state rail network in the railway area in track maintenance work commissioned by the Finnish Transport Agency, such as track maintenance and construction-related work, as well as work that requires a permit from the Finnish Transport Agency. The training is also suitable as an information package for all those interested in the rail system and those working immediately in its vicinity in order to identify the boundaries of the safe working area.
