Kela reimbursement

You know that when you purchase first aid training, you can be entitled to 60% KELA reimbursement?

  • As a prerequisite, the organisation has occupational health care arranged / It is therefore sufficient that statutory health care is implemented in the company.
  • The needs noted are included in the action plan/Action Plan, mentioning that first aid training will be provided for the personnel.
  • First aid instructor must have first aid and health information trainer training (Etk) / Uudenmaan Koulutuskeskus All first aid trainers of Oy have this qualification
  • The maximum compensation is 60%, but within the annual ceiling and according to a decision made by KELA.
  • Employers apply for compensation within 6 months of the end of the financial year
  • Entrepreneurs apply for compensation within 6 months of payment of the invoice

The trainers of the Uusimaa Education Centre have first aid and health information trainer training, The Finnish Centre for Pensions. Our first aid courses meet the requirements of the coil.

Based on the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the employer is obliged to provide first aid at the workplace (statutory occupational health care).

Application for compensation

The employer can apply for reimbursement by financial year for the costs incurred in maintaining first aid preparedness with the same claim for reimbursement of occupational health care costs. The application period is six (6) months from the end of the financial year.

Please note that although first aid capabilities must be part of the occupational health care plan, there is no need to obtain training at your occupational health centre in order to receive compensation.
